Tijdens de tweede wereldoorlog bereidden de geallieerden zich in 1943 al voor op de invasie die in 1944 plaats zouden vinden. Het muntbiljet van twee en een halve gulden met \u5a01\u5ec9\u660e\u5a1c\u738b\u540e<\/a> erop is dan ook onderdeel van een bijzonder stukje Nederlandse geschiedenis. Bij het bevrijden van gebieden moesten de soldaten ook geld meekrijgen om uit te kunnen geven in bevrijd gebied, omdat het lastig was buitenlands geld uit te geven in gebieden waar de koers van dat geld niet bekend was en veel inwoners het geld niet kende en waarschijnlijk ook niet aan zouden nemen. Daarom werd er door het ministerie van financi\u00ebn besloten om in de Verenigde Staten Nederlandse guldens te drukken, en deze muntbiljetten hadden op de voorzijde dan ook de afbeelding van koningin Wilhelmina. Het muntbiljet van twee en een halve gulden is in 1943 uitgegeven en heeft de handtekening van Johannes van den Broek (minister van financi\u00ebn) op de voorzijde. Bij de serie in Amerika gedrukte guldens horen ook nog de:

\n–\tTien gulden muntbiljet 1943<\/a>;
\n–\tVijfentwintig gulden muntbiljet 1943<\/a>;
\n–\tVijftig gulden muntbiljet 1943<\/a>;
\n–\tHonderd gulden muntbiljet 1943<\/a>.
\nOmdat de muntbiljetten uit 1943 al voor de bevrijding van Noord-Nederland waren uitgegeven, kwam een deel ook in het zwartgeldcircuit van het bezette gebied terecht en daarom werd de serie tijdens de geldzuivering van 1945 uit omloop gehaald. <\/p>\n
